Contact Lenses in The Villages, FL
Clear, comfortable vision without glasses. Villages Optical offers contact lens exams, fittings and a full range of contact lenses tailored to your needs.
Contact Lens Exams and Fittings
Contact lenses sit right on your eye, so they need their own measurements and their own prescription. Here’s what happens at your visit.
Comprehensive eye exam
We check your vision and the health of your eyes first, so your contact lenses start from an accurate prescription.
Cornea measurements
Keratometry measures the curvature of your cornea, the eye’s front surface. It’s essential for diagnosing astigmatism and fitting contact lenses.
Choosing your lenses
Our team helps you choose the lens type that suits your eyes, your vision needs and your daily routine.
Your contact lens prescription
You leave with a contact lens prescription made for your eyes. A glasses prescription alone isn’t enough to order contact lenses.

Types of Contact Lenses
There’s more than one kind of contact lens. We’ll recommend the type that suits your eyes and your routine.
Daily Disposable Contact Lenses
Single-use lenses you wear for one day and throw away at night. There’s no cleaning or storage case, so they’re a simple, fresh choice every morning.
- A fresh pair every day
- No cleaning solution or case
- Great for occasional wear
Biweekly Contact Lenses
Reusable lenses you replace every two weeks. You clean and store them each night between wears.
- Replaced every two weeks
- Cleaned and stored nightly
- A balance of cost and freshness
Monthly Contact Lenses
Lenses designed to be worn for about 30 days before you replace them, with nightly cleaning and storage.
- Replaced about every 30 days

- Often the lowest yearly cost
Light-Adaptive Contact Lenses
Contact lenses that sense the light around you and adjust smoothly from clear to darker, for comfortable vision indoors and out all day long.

Contact Lens Care Tips
Good habits keep your eyes healthy and your lenses comfortable. These tips follow the CDC’s contact lens advice (opens in a new tab).
- Wash and dry your hands before touching your lenses.
- Don’t sleep in your contact lenses unless your eye doctor says it’s safe.
- Keep water away from your lenses: no swimming or showering in them, and never rinse them with water.
- Use fresh solution every time; never top off old solution in the case.
- Replace your lenses and your lens case on schedule.
- Keep a backup pair of glasses for days your eyes need a rest.
- Schedule an eye exam every year to keep your contact lens prescription current.
- If your eye turns red, painful or blurry, take your lenses out and call us.
